Well it seems I am not as much of a short arse as I thought. A Granpasso is certainly a possibility.

HI - ive had a GP for a few years now and have a 29" inside leg. If you are prepared to slide one arse cheek off every time you stop then all is OK. I can sit on the bike with the balls of both feet on the ground if you slide forward on the saddle. But to be sure and safe at junctions you have to remember to slide over and get one leg down.
