bent handlebar

Post by drakoniano »

Hi everybody.

I recently adquire a granpasso 1200 (year 2009). I have fallen due to the rain, not too much damage (i was riding slowly) but the handlebar is a bit bent.
Could someone help me and tell me where can i buy a new one? I can read from the handlebar:
"Patent EP 1577205
REIKON.COM
M2141201"
But i can't find it anywhere.
Another option, i don't know if it is a good idea.... My idea is delay the handlebar a little to be more straight on the bike, maybe with 1-2 cm will be enough. If y buy a delay riser handlebar, anyone did it? what delay riser handlebar and handlebar he bought?

Thanks and regards,

Perhaps you could email Reikon?
Or the company they list as distributers for your country?
Eg. for the UK.

Hi Drakoniano;

Welcome to the world of Morini riding and the MRC Forum! Sorry to hear about your low speed spill, and it's good that there was only a little damage.

There are three Morini Service Centres in the UK (if that is where you are based) who can order parts, or you can contact the Factory direct via their web site (just type Moto Morini in to Google...) and ask for details of an H83 handlebar. There are also extended risers, I think.

I know that NLM (one of the service centres) have regular deliveries from the factory - as I am sure will Moto Corsa in Shaftsbury - and so it should be a reasonably short wait...

Good riding,

Still no answer from NLM, But moto morini factory answer me:

Currently we assemble handlebars accossato and no longer can sell REKON as terminated.
The Diue dumbbells are still identical to levels of bend and height, only changes the point of variation of the outer diameter. On KIRIN fact the diameter from 28 continued along the entire curve of the handlebar, while the accossato decreases before.
In terms of structure and characteristics NOT change anything, it was a change forced by changing supplier."

handlebars + handlebars VAT + shipping cost + Shipping cost VAT = almost 200€, a bit expensive in my opinion. So my next step is try to contact with any Accossato dealer directly and hope a lower price. If i don't find any i will buy from moto morini factory directly, no other option >.<

Don't give up on NLM yet - remember they are closed on Mondays and may not get round to answering until today or tomorrow. If you ring Rob in the parts department direct rather than email you should get a quicker answer.

Sorry I can't help with the big Morini stuff - I've only got little ones!!

Accossato and reikon dealers can't help me, they don't know the reference. The handlebar is made for granpasso exclusively and It is patented, so you can't buy it from anywhere only from moto morini. I tried to search for any compatible handlebar but is impossible.
The only option is buy it from moto morini and pay 185€ .....

Hi,

If you know the dimensions, try Renthal.

i tried with a few other manufacturers (included renthal) and nothing. the handlebar is patented and the dimensions are too specific, you only can find some with similar but no identical dimensions, so you can't use them.
The only way is use risers with other handlebar.

Hi drako

Have you thought about going to a reputable engineering firm and having your own fabricated ? Take your bent one as a template (if you get my drift), and see how you go, as most will have tubing of some sort.

Hope that helps
