Post by franky »

Hi,

just a couple of questions.... have any of the Veloce's been released with ohlins rear suspension yet?

Does anyone know of a used Veloce for sale?

Regards. :D

3X have a 2008 demo to test.

Morini are making more Veloces than anything else - and no, I haven't seen a used one for sale (except oe in Real World, but thats gone now...)

Hi Franky

As to your second question - I am not aware of any UK bikes that have been
released with ohlins suspension.

Not to say that somebody hasn't fitted it to their existing bike.

When I say 'Ohlins' I am of course referring to the rear shock.
It is unlikely that MM will fit 'full Ohlins' as this would kill the retail price of the bike.

The new 'GanPasso' adventure bike is being released with an Ohlins rear shock as standard.

3X do not currently have any used 'Veloce's and the next one to come-up will doubtless be the current, black demo-bike(2008 spec bike).

This has not long been on the demo fleet and so it will be a few months before it is up for sale.

The last 'Veloce' demo bike had a glorious test fleet career with the motorcycle press and yours truly and was then crashed....

3X currently have a new Corsaro, in Yellow/black and one or maybe two Red/Silver 2007 model Corsaro's and I believe a used 91/2.

The bikes have started to catch-on and there is much more interest- A used Corsaro was sold last week.

Hope this helps.

It could be correct -given that 08 models are released late the previous year.

I will check-out the 3X demo bike to be sure of my facts and report-back.

If I'm wrong; I'll have to eat 'e-humble pie'.....

There is next to no difference between a Veloce and a Corsaro. I know...i own both!!!!

The Corsaro is just about to go up for sale (after it has been to 3x for complete FREE update..I gather 20 hours work!!. This factory is proudly supporting its product, ask a BM owner how he feels about support). My bikes run just fine .

The Corsaro has 2000 miles on the clock and is for sale at £5,500 and no offers.

Franky,
I'm eating that e-humble pie!

Checked-out the Black 'Veloce' at 3X and it does indeed have an Ohlins rear shock.
The body of the shock is pretty well hidden -especially as I look down on the bike rather, than at it from the side.

The '08' Veloce also has a radial brake master cylinder -though not the callipers.

Hope this helps.

The new brake and clutch fluid resevoirs on the handlebars look like a retrograde step, though... :(

Chris,
Think how many grams of weight-saving they offer!

On a serious note: I think they probably offer more feel at the lever.

Although the plastic-type master cylinders always look vulnerable (especially on un-faired bikes) and could be tampered with....But it has never happened to any of my bikes.

No doubt the 09 models will have the radial calipers to go with them.
As in theory unit price will come down.
