Slow puncture

Following the successful resolution of the main beam problem and subsequent MOT, the 91/2 was used for a trip to Yorkshire so it could be modern and reliable - and it got a flat tyre. Nothing apparently wrong with either tyre or valve, we got home using a can of Finilec (or imitation thereof) and stopping at several petrol stations, it is still going slowly down. Is there an issue with sealing round the spokes? And how easy is dropping the back wheel out - it looks straightforward but is there anything I should be aware of?
