A few month's ago a had the opportunity to an early Strada
The A2 3202 with first series engine.
How to recognise those early strada's ? (Thanks to Werner from the German Morini-scene, he discribed it in the last Strega's)
Notice the full allu inlets and other valvecovers
Gearlever is steel and no grip on the frame
Bigger hole on the clutch side, previuos owner filled it up
No ABC size on the beltpully
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the moment is to hot to drive, so we could spend some time in the garage.
Did a compressiontest first and got 10 bar in front and 11 in the other cylinder
The engine is laying on the workbench ... time to investigatie what we bought
The odometer says 23.000 but .........
Removed the heads and cylinders and found the missing 1 bar, the pistonring of the front cylinder was stuck
With some WD40 and some patience the ring is free again.
The engine was very clean inside.... really 23.000 km's ????
Measured the pistonrings as discribed in the book.
Perfect 0.20 mm
Pistons in great shape too;-)
No complains about the valves so far (have to remove them) but this looks ok
To be continued
