175 H Supermono

Looking for for something to improve performances and reduce vibrations on my 125 H, and after some interesting experiences and failures ( You can have a look on this topic about alternative pistons at pages 3 and 4.
https://motomoriniclub.forumcommunity.n ... 4655&st=45 )
I thought :” why not try to develop old Lambertini’s idea”
Lambertini developed for the 250 T a balancing system that used the rear rod of a 500 twin engine linked by a service rod that he called “ batacchio”(door knocker) pivoted to the camshaft.
The device was tested and it reduced dramatically vibrations, but it produced a beat that could not be explained because there was no contact between parts.
The project was later abandoned for other reasons and the 250 T turned out to be probably the worst Lambertini’s engines.
As we know that project came in Ducati’s hands that developed the 600 supermono.
It was impossible for me to start from the camshaft, so fitted the “batacchio” outside the engine, same solution used by Ducati.
In this project I decided to change the virtual angle of the rear cylinder from 72° to 86°
by lengthening the batacchio to the maximum.
My CAD design was CAM machined by Bevotroppo (drinktoomuch). A friend and crazy enthusiast Morini guru.
We presented the engine to Lambertini and he congratulated us,
he also will provide us his specific calculations to determine exact weight of the "batacchio".
His appreciation made us very proud.
Engine runs well, vibration are a lot reduced compared to previous 125 h.
There are stil some problem to solve to find the best tuning.

Hello Paolo,

You are very clever to do this engineering and are to be congratulated.
Thank you for sharing.

Amazing, congratulations!
So good to have the blessing of the Master.

Thank you very much for your appreciation. :D

Just found the latest copy of Lambertini's idea:
https://www.motorradonline.de/ratgeber/ ... nzylinder/

However 90 hp from a 600cc mono is remarkable !!
This speaks volumes about the potential of Lambertini's idea

I've just discovered this post (owning a 125 T (the last of the 125 H range)) led me to it :)

Incredible work and the rest of Paolo's videos on vimeo are well worth watching.
