How many Scramblers in the UK?

Looking on the Government road tax records https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/m ... _scrambler it shows that the maximum number of Scramblers ever in the UK is 7 but does anybody know of a way of checking how many were actually imported to the UK?

cheers, Tony

Hi Tony,

Total registrations were 7 as you pointed out.
It is unlikely that any further bikes were imported, dealers were very careful when ordering stock.
I am not aware of any new/old stock held by dealers.
My local dealer had a new scrambler, but sold it to another dealer who had customer lined up.
Hopefully with the new dealers we will now see a few more scramblers on the road.

Regards

Paul

Evening boys

I have asked the same question regards my veloce. The government website is only for those bikes that are taxed and on the road. And you also have to put in the exact model. Ithink the current thought on veloce's is a couple of dozen. 7 is probably about right for the scrambler. I still haven't seen one ! And we haven't had any turn up to our monthly meeting for the corsaro section.
All the best

Floyd

Not much change to my new one!

I suppose if the design is right why change it?

Michelin Anakee 2's which were on it when I bought it with 6k miles on the clock but the rear spins up really easy in the damp. Now on 7100 miles and they're about due for a change which is a bit disappointing compared to the Tourance tyres I run on my BMW gs which usually get 10k miles out of

My 17" shod Scrambler has Pirelli MT60s...

The tread pattern gives a funny feeling at lowish speeds. Will change for some sport / touring rubber at change.

Mike.

I like the look of them. I think they suit the bike but they only go to 18inch.

In answer to the title - not nearly enough...

91/2, 11 1/2, Sport, Scrambler and to a lesser degree the GP are all the same bikes. Eat motorways. Top gear and control the speed on the throttle. Go around corners pretty well, too. Just wish mine had the Four pot calipers and 320mm discs!

No Mike, the GP is a much more rounded bike (which includes it being both heavier and bigger!); comfier seat, better headlight and the ability to have a full suit of luggage - although I'm sure that could be worked out for the Scrambler... Also, the GP (but not the R) has the Ohlins shock so more bragging points.

Good riding,

CC

I thought all Scramblers had the 19" front wheel :? , mine does.
My gs has the same combo ie 17" rear/19" front which I've done over 50k miles on so for me I like it, on other bikes with the 17" front I always felt like they 'dropped' in to the corner too much and usually had to lift the bike mid corner.
