Identifying a Morini single

Post by nicknorton »

Hi,

I am new here so I hope you can help. My mate has just bought a house in Italy and has found a Morini single out the back of the property. He has no internet but has texted me the Frame Number - A21733 and for what it is worth the Reg Number is AT1 3851. Cant find an engine number yet

He says the cylinder barrel look large and thought it would be a 500cc but a quick look at the net tells me it would be a 150/175/250.

Talk about being jammy! I am of course very envious. If any of you guys could help out with a clue as to what this is it would be great.

Cheers

If the bike is a V-twin derived single, then it would be a 125 or a 250. The Barrel on the 250 is 8 fins tall, whilst the 125 is only 5. The engine on the 250 is also rubber mounted.

Hi Paul

Thanks for your input. I think this is a pre V single. Stuart from NLM suggested that the A prefix indicates a 50s 60s Turismo? Hopefully my mate will get it together to send some pics.

Cheers
