2C gasket l/h side/ clutch cover

Post by Kmac »

I need to free the clutch plates after not being used for awhile. Would anybody know if the gasket l/h side/ clutch cover is the same size as the 350.

Start the engine, paddle the bike along as fast as you can and snick it into first gear, then pull in the clutch.

Always worked for me on wet clutch Morinis.

It also worked to free the clutch on my Yamaha GTS1000 after it had stood for several years, although you couldn't paddle that up to speed, it needed two people pushing.

? Not a chance

DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!
Shouldn't admit this, but I had a Kawasaki GPZ1100 1981 model - Had stood for 3 years when I got it in 1985 as a non runner. Was young and ignorant then. Having sorted the 'non-running bit, the clutch wouldn't disengage so I put front wheel against side of house, held front brake on, revved to 6000rpm and stomped onto gear lever. Gravel peppered neighbours house as the rear tyre spun, then there was a big 'bang' from the clutch. And I 'got away with it! Plates had freed off and I subsequently used the bike for 5 years without any issues at all. Was still ok when I sold it.
Do that again? Not a chance.

George
