Hi, what is your wife's bike in the picture?
2001 Honda VTR250. Every time I ride it I'm surprised how capable it is!

Sold a bsa and bought this new Enfield Interceptor in the summer. Great bike. Use the morini for classic meets and the enfield for longer journeys. Swapping left and right gear changes is interesting for the first couple of minutes but I get used to it very quickly now.

Other bike brand? Is there such a thing!

I guess there is - I still have the Velocette that I bought in 1970 (I think) - did 600 miles on it this year - not enough!

I bought the Morini (wire wheel, disc braked) Strada in 1977 as it was close to the good handling of the Venom after I had experienced a Kawasaki triple for 14 months... Never been without a Morini since, although other Kawasaki, a Gilera Nordwest (oh yes), BMW, Honda and Triumph have also graced the garage over the intervening years. An article for ATG there from someone with a broader experience, perhaps?

Good riding for 2024, whatever you ride

I have the Yamaha YZF125R that I bought to learn on, which gets used during the winter months as it has fuel injection, engine management and starts on the button.

And a 1994 Honda RVF400 which always needs a bit of coaxing into life...

It was whilst on a track day at Snettterton on the Honda that I saw Martin Gelder's 3 1/2 and decided to get one myself

And too many others. Struggling to sell a tidy Laverda Mirage in the current 'climate'

The inevitable Beemer -R75/7. Recently on the naughty step gearbox wise but I’ve done the knowledge on those heavy things so all good again.

Mine are a 350 sport, another 350 sport and another 350 sport; it’s a long story, plus a 9000ss Ducati (1994), another 900ss Ducati, this time a bevel of 1982, and a 700 Transalp which does everything better than it should for a 16 year old budget bike.
John, is that the Peter Hammond of Cirencester? I had a C11 back when you had your C15.

Yes. 44 Watermoor Road 95 2467. That was the number in 1975. Bike was a 1966 C15 I got from Norridge Motorcycles in Minster Lovell. When I think of what a rusty wreck it was and only 9 years old it makes me marvel at the condition of my current old crates.
I used to go upstairs for kickstart return springs . With the benefit of hindsight and a salary I should have bought two. Think the laconic parts bloke was called Dave.
A grand day out was ride to Gaydon to watch road racing and stop in the Cotswold Arms, Burford on the return leg to Wroughton.
Most of this can no longer be done.

Title is incorrect...

Whare are your other bikes!

BMW R90S and BMW R1200R. Big fan of teutonic efficiency.

I know what you mean, should never have sold my R100/7, R100GS though disappointed in the 130000km R850R - the cable loom disintegrated.
They're too big and fat now, R1250GS' common as merde over here.

The airhead still cuts it in modern traffic and has a range of 250 miles and is all day comfortable. The 1200R has been a revelation. Handling is very good and it has the same range on a tank that is 6 litres smaller. I have averaged over 60 mpg since I got it in May. The seat is like an armchair.

Weight is a problem, but all the things like large silencers, cats and stainless exhausts add to the weight. Being boxers, the weight is carried low.

the MM500 does 60 mpg, and less when used enthusiastically
the V85 averages 65 mpg, used commuting to work vv, 125 miles one way

As well as the 1977 Strada I have a 1949 AJS which I've had longer than the Strada, a CB250RSA & A CB250RSD with an inoperative electric start :( . Also a couple of Serows for playing on muddy lanes. Oh and a 2021 MT03 as I've downsized due to short legs and advancing years.

Luckily the CB250RSD I acquired last year has a currently functioning electric start. One of the main reasons for getting one.
"...short legs and advancing years." Welcome to my world ;)

The 250RS was, and probably still is, a great bike.
