Hi All,

does anyone have a source for a stainless steel or chromed steel balance pipe suitable for standard silencers? NLM say they haven't had them in for a long time.

Hi Steve, I just googled and came up with "metals4u" of Pontefract. My balance pipe's about 1 and 1/8th inch i.d., 1 and 1/4 o.d. The firm say they do small quantities. Just one thing, the stainless comes in two grades, 304 and 316. 304 is cheaper and described as "ornamental", but how strong does a balance pipe need to be? Some one with the knowledge might know of any objections.
Of course it would still need lugs welding on, or you could use Jubilee clips if the purist part of you doesn't mind.
