Yellow flashing light

Post by Michael S »

Hi
I have very much enjoyed my Strada for a year now.
At the end of a recent brisk ride the centre yellow light on my instrument binnacle was flashing.
The legend below the light is scratched and I cannot read it. My landscape sized IB does not describe the instrument binnacle. On the way home I realised that the left turn front indicator wasn't working
Although the bulb seems ok I tried the obviously working one from the other side. Still not working although the rear left is working. I also noticed that some toe rag has broken the lens on the front left turn indicator. No other damage other than replacing the lens.
Are my problems inter related?
Before I start tearing things apart has anyone got a suggestion?
Regards
Michael

Earth?
12 volts reaching the bulb when indicators switched on?

If the latter is true suspect the former and vice versa. If you have both, then that is the magic of electricity and Mr Ohm will be along shortly!

I had the same problem this weekend. The earth wire had come adrift.

Thanks Micky.
A simple check with external wire from the battery earth says the earth wire is open circuit somewhere.
Just perhaps reduce my hunting time where did you find your loose connection ?

Found it! The connector to the stalk cable had come off.
Will now enjoy a ride with my daughter on her Honda 400/4 tomorrow

Mine had come unsoldered inside the assembly. The green wire from the lamp holder.

Enjoy the ride

PS. Moroni quicker than a 400/4.
