This has just turned up on ebay in Australia advertised as a totally original 1980 Sport

Its clearly a Strada with a Sport seat, but it certainly looks very very clean - is it truly original unrestored????? Its expensive but how often do original low mileage ones come up????

My opinion is that the bike had a lot of restoration.
Not only the seat is wrong, but also exhausts, headlamp, main cylinder.
It was repainted with not very well done stripes.
A red 1980 Strada had black and gold stripes and gold weels.
( so probably it was silver Strada in the beginning)
Engine side covers of engine should be black.
Logo on tank should be white.
That kind of front mudguard never came painted, but stainless and crome.
Electric tap is missing.
The bike has inverted foot controls (probably an export model to USA with a strange plate holder and direction indicator with reflectors), but the one on the right has an ugly custom plate riveted to the frame.
Definitely not immaculate.

I think the description is wrong its a 1979 not a 1980.

A3 model frame 18312

seller is adamant that it is original unrestored

The paint and stripes could possibly be original, but better pictures would help. I am fairly sure I have seen some of those front mudguards painted, on Morinis road-tested in US magazines from that period. The right engine cover, the clutch cover, the ignition pick-up cover and the rocker covers must have been black originally. Someone has either polished them or replaced them with polished ones; the left engine case cover was left black because there was a bit more work involved in polishing/replacing it. The headlamp looks like the headlamp on Mepstein's 75 Sport; the original Italian headlamps must not have complied with USA standards. The front disc looks pretty clean and in good condition. The miles shown are quite possibly genuine. The top triple clamp has been polished; the lower was perhaps too hard to remove for polishing. As noted, the electric fuel tap is gone and the brake master cylinder isn't original but could have been substituted in an attempt to achieve better braking.

Yes, more likely a 1979.
In fact in 1979 there were red Strada with grey weels:
