Fiamm Horn

Post by MarkB »

I've fitted a Fiamm horn to my Sport but when I press the button, instead of making me jump across the garage in fright, it just makes a hesitant squawk. Does anyone know how to restore it to its proper loudness?

Thanks, Mark.

Try it straight across the battery first. May be the switch is dirty and you do not have 12 volts at the horn. This is an age problem, horn not rising to the occasion... :)

I also find having two helps. Low and high tone.

Is the battery fully charged?

I took one to bits (because it was rusty inside) and when reassembled made a pathetic sound. There is an adjuster which seemed very sensitive but may be worth a try. In my case I found replacing the paper 'gasket(s)' made the most difference but it is rather trial and error so took me a few attempts. The other suggestions are easier to check first.
