350 Sport K1 throttle assembly

Post by Tim Louth »

Hi all, I have a Morini 350 Sport K1 and there is a part missing from the throttle assembly. There is a plastic moulding in the assembly that stops the throttle tube going too far and the 2 cables coming out of their seats in the tube assembly. I was wondering if anyone could send me a photo of the inside of their throttle assembly so I can see what I am missing and make a replacement item. At present I have a couple of screws going through the outer casing but it looks pretty crap. Many thanks.

I´m not quite sure, if I understood what you are talking about.
On Dulcinea I tried to solve the problem about adjusting the cable length, that is a mess on the top of the carbs under the tank. It works fine.

Inside the actual throttle housing there is something that stops the throttle tube going too far when the throttle is closed.
If it goes too far the cables can come out of the throttle tube.
Whatever it is is missing from mine, it must have broken off sometime in the past.

Ah, now I understand. Yes, there is a little sheet. Perhaps I can make a foto tomorrow.

Here come the fotos as promised. I´ve found an old alloy throttle from Verlicchi, don´t know wether you have the modern plastic one.

The first foto shows the trottle nearly closed and the second one withe the throttle closed. That means the white plastic barrel, where the cables are attached stops at the alloy housing. This will be the same with the plastic housing. There is nothing more that stops the turning when closing the gas. The nipples only can get out, when the inner cables are too long, after mounting the black plastic part from the pictures above.

I´m not sure if the small metal sheet only exist in the older alloy ones, but I think so. With the scew, you can see, you can put some presure on the throttle making it mor easy or more firmly (till that moment that you have an autopilot, so that the gas will not return to idle when taking the hand off)

Thank you for the pictures.
Mine is the modern plastic one so I think it is quite a bit different.
