When I sold my 350 K2 a few months ago, I swore that was the last Morini I'd own. But here I am with a very needy '77 (as far as I can tell) 3 1/2 Sport. It was too cheap ($300) and too close (200 miles away) to pass up, so this past Saturday I drove down to Lynchburg, Virginia in my VW Eurovan (T4) and brought it home. Missing quite a few bits and what's there is scruffy, but it has potential. Last on the road in '89. Engine turns over and has compression, clean oil in it. Shifts through the gears, not sure if the clutch works yet or not.

I'm not sure when I'll start working on it, plenty else to do over the Winter. Until then, I'll be searching for the missing parts, so if any of you have what I need, I'd like to hear from you.

original paint on the tank - probably?

left foot gear-change conversion guess that was mandatory by then?

Any idea on its history , why it was laid up.

"12/76" is cast into the wheels, so likely a '77. Original paint on the tank. Yes, left-foot gear change was mandatory by then.

There are signs that it was lightly crashed: bent gauge bracket and what remains of the headlight mounts. I'm guessing that's why it's missing the gauges and headlight, possibly why the front fender was bobbed.

No, it was actually very nice, but for a US owner, the parts situation has never been great. I guess I've been spoiled by being able to get just about anything I need for my Guzzi within a week and at reasonable prices.

Hi from New Zealand ... hahhaaaaa!! No, really, it's not the parts availability, it's the shipping to here. I'm often asked by strangers about parts, right after they learn it's not a 2-stroke or Ducati. I reply they're easier to find than when I had an air-cooled Yamaha RD, and they are. I save up a list and order things to consolidate shipping costs.
