Accessory socket

Post by 3potjohn »

Being the man that I am, I am quite partial to an accessory socket. All my old Beemers have them. My charger has the corresponding plug and I have an Optimate dual USB charger for the odd occasion when my phone goes flat ( like always)
A bit of sawing , drilling ,hammering, painting, terminal crimping, in line fuse fitting, heat shrinking later I now have one.
Already on mark II as first attempt was great until I refitted my side panel and found it was hidden.
Encouraged by all this I then stared hard at the spaghetti of the original looms. A bit of rerouting and judicious clipping of excess and it is a lot tidier. If I had the nous I would redo the lot using thin wall wire from Vehicle Wiring Products as it is obvious that some of the copper looked a bit tired. Mind you it has not done bad for nigh on 40 years.
What next?
John
