clutch sticks when hot

I assume its warped disks but wanted to confirm with those who know more than me.

1977 strada runs and rides great, but after an hour of stop and go style, the clutch starts to stick and it becomes not super easy to change gears (to the point of can't unless you hit the rpms just right)- I assume replace the disks? but just checking before I dive in and order parts.

corollary: any leads on where I can order clutch plates?

cheers,

Josh in Oakland CA, USA

Have you had the clutch plates out for inspection? It's a fairly easy job. You may need to give them a good clean and it's good to check that the retaining nuts are not seized on the studs (plenty of info on the forum about that). If you do need plates, search 'Surflex' on the net.

This may help. Paul Comptons video referenced is worth watching.
I suppose the clutch centre is not over- shimmed i.e. can freely rotate when the plates are removed.
Good luck. John
