Surflex or Newfren clutch

Post by martinaccarter »

Hello All

I am replacing the friction plates in my 1977 Strada and there seems to be a choice between Surflex and Newfren, I wonder if anyone has any views on which to choose?

Many thanks

Martin

I've only ever seen the Surflex as fitted originally. They are good and last well. I bought a set for the V twins not long ago and was pleased with the results. The set contained steel plates including the dished one which is important for a decent clutch action.

I also would suggest the Surflex set! They nearly last forever and you need a good dished one, as Steve said.
