My K1 was harder to start on the kickstart initially. I measured the ignition coil resistance at 175 ohms. After it was rewound the bike starts easily by kick and starter motor.
I am overdue a cambelt change so will examine my chain.

Post cam belt change, time ignition and balance/tune carbs then repeat after a couple of hundred miles
A pain yet it can really improve starting

I am planning to strip the carbs over winter and give them a full refurb new needles and needle jets. Clean everything until it sparkles and maybe if I can find the bits convert one of the carbs to remote choke with a nice discreet lever on the bars.
