Well all the electrics are working but....
It appears the customs have a different electric start casing, so the gear linkage fouls!
Does anyone have a spare standard electric start side casing?

I would not think Morini could afford a different casing.

Has the linkage been changed, do you have rear sets?

Of course, I could be wrong, not unknown!

Standard K1 linkage, case is definitely different, am I right in thinking the customs were left hand shift, which may explain it. I believe the off-road bikes were more cut away but may well work.

Can you post some pictures of what you have?

As above, I don’t believe there were any differences in the electric start case for the road models.

I’ve not got a decent picture of my k1 before I fitted rearsets but below is a picture from the sales brochure of the standard setup, and one of my bike now with rearsets and the longer cranked linkage

I have had the exact same K lever just touch the case and cause a selection issue. This simply required adjustment of the linkage. I think a friend had similar last year.
If the linkage rod is not a standard length ( I wished I had made a note of that when I made one from stainless steel) or cannot be adjusted to clear the case check that rod length.
I also am unaware of different e-start cases.

Measuring my rod, from the centres of each rose joint gives 151 mm ( home made rod)

Thanks guys, the case I have looks like the camel one. I have been looking at pics of my old Morini K, the linkage looks the same but the casing I have is definitely deeper. So cutting back won't work, so the hunt for a roadster case continues.
Attached are pics of my old bikes one and the one I have.

Try checking the “bits for sale” section at the moment, might be a case in amongst the parts ex Barcelona?
It was worth me looking at my gear linkage yesterday. The lever action was stiff. This turned out to be as a result of me trying to take up wear in the pivot bush/ frame using some thin shim metal last year. Some kind of corrosion I expect. Removed shim and much better but wobbly.
