Granpasso, 3 1/2 Strada and Smurfify your Excalibur
Granpasso, 3 1/2 Strada and Smurfify your Excalibur
Hi folks,
I have to make room in the garage so I am selling some stuff:
- Granpasso 2009, comes with higher screen and heated grips. Approx 30000 km's, tyres are as good as new, oil and filter changed last year. Asking 7500 euros. Selling because I got myself a Scrambler
Pics: http://www.speurders.nl/overzicht/morin ... 77836.html
- 3 1/2 Strada 1975, running okay, pulls nicely. Looks are okay but it needs either a restoration or just ride it without worrying if you brand new paint gets scratched. 95% original, with original Dutch license and matching numbers (for what it's worth). Head stock bearings needs replacing, I've got two cups of a Camel that you can use to fit conical bearings (I'm almost sure they'll fit, I have them on my own '74 Strada which is almost similar). Asking 2500,- euros

And! Last but not least, for the true Morinifan, these parts to personalize your Excalibur:

Looking for a 1000 pounds, this is rare stuff gentlemen!

Heh, that looks just like my very first Strada bought new in 1975. So tempted, but a bit far to come and collect it.
Re: Granpasso, 3 1/2 Strada and Smurfify your Excalibur
556 km according to mr. Google, that's not too far
Re: Granpasso, 3 1/2 Strada and Smurfify your Excalibur
Those '22 miles' between Dover and Calais add considerably to the cost if using a car and trailer
Re: Granpasso, 3 1/2 Strada and Smurfify your Excalibur
I think we should build a dam over there (with a fly-over halfway for changing lanes )
Re: Granpasso, 3 1/2 Strada and Smurfify your Excalibur
park the car & trailer at the ferry docks and come across without... arrange to have the bike delivered at the Dutch docks72degrees wrote:Those '22 miles' between Dover and Calais add considerably to the cost if using a car and trailer

Still got to pay for a solo motorcycle and rider crossing!
Anyway, I found a photo of mine. A scan of a scanned transparency that I can't find the original of so excuse the quality. It was only a few months old then but note the smoke from the rear cylinder!

Nice! I always love the pictures from that era.
The smoke must be water or did you still have the chokes on?
And what hendre said about delivering: since a couple of months I have a van and can drop the bikes and parts of at any harbour...

I wouldn't have ridden it with a choke on but it could be just 'steam'. Strange it only seems to be from the rear cylinder though.
You are very persuasive, but I shouldn't really buy another Morini until I have sold the Corsaro and probably also one of the Gilera GFR125s (who needs two ? ).

If you're talking early photos Pete....
I'm guessing that this is 1981 or '82?

"I'll use the Morini"
Re: Granpasso, 3 1/2 Strada and Smurfify your Excalibur
82 or 83. Probably 82. The first year the 2C/375 went to the Island. Not just one of the regular jetting/needle tweaking sessions, although having the tank up suggests a needle notch experiment. I guess it was also because of the headlight falling off, again - plus ça change eh? Note no indicators as I was riding it occasionally in hill climbs then.

Hi guys, fyi I have a friend coming over to the UK end of march with a van and he can bring one of the bikes (or parts) along for a small fee. He'll be in the Bedford area for a week.
Re: Granpasso, 3 1/2 Strada and Smurfify your Excalibur
The 3 1/2 is sold and on it's way to the UK
