Was that your Sport at Jurby Festival today? I'm not aware of a speedo cable that is compatible from another bike but you might get lucky and match it. I know some Yamaha cables fit Gilera Nordwests for example. Still worse things to fail

Yes I was at Jurby today, it was a great day. I have looked around for a matching speedo cable but no luck. No worries though I can manage a few more days.

You could buy a cheap push-bike speedo as a temporary measure (probably more accurate, too).

A Guzzi V50 cable fits.

My speedo cable failed about 3 miles from home on a trip round Europe in June, that notched up 2000 miles (on my friend's BMW speedo). It felt like a bad omen, but nothing else untoward happened...
