Speedo hub mechanism needed

Post by Nigelcb »

Bought my 350 Excalibur and the speedo did not work. Turns out that it is the mechanism in the wheel that has been kaput for ages, I am hoping that a part from any Moto Morini model will do the trick. If anyone has one then please let me know. Many thanks. N

The excalibur parts book lists the transmission and the housing separately, part numbers 460317 and 432703 respectively.

This part number is only listed on the NLM parts list as being for excalibur so I suspect that none of the other morini speedo drives will fit. It's certainly a different part to new york and dart. Perhaps someone can confirm this?

NLM have both parts listed as in stock, as well as a complete assembly, ranging from about £8 to £55 depending which bits you need.

Paul Compton (EV guru) on this list may have a speedo drive lurking somewhere.

I've checked a 500 partslist and the drive has the same number (460317) as on an Excalibur. The housing has a different partnumber but you probably don't need that.
