Kanguro engine special tools

Have decided to partly strip my Kanguro engine as I am completely rebuilding the bike
Can anyone lend me or sell me any special tools I might need to strip and set up the engine
Also any tips I might need along the way
And is there any good specialist Morini engine builders out there at a (reasonable price)

Hi DBD,

The only special tools you really need are the flywheel puller and a clutch holder. The central threaded flywheel puller is essential, don't try anything else or you will damage the flywheel. They are a common size and the same as those for most Italian fart boxes (sorry Lambrettas, Vespas and anything with a Franco Morini engine) and in all honesty you should buy one rather than borrow one as you will need it when belt change time comes, and this is a regular service task. They are not expensive and a scooter shop will probably have one, or they turn up all the time on ebay etc.
I can't remember the exact size thread off my head, but if no one else replies in the meantime, I'll be able to measure mine at the weekend and post the size so that you know what to buy.

The clutch holder, only really necessary when replacing clutch seals and diving deeper into the engine can be borrowed bought,or can be made from an old clutch driven (metal) plate and a piece of steel bar. Or can be a heavy friend standing on the rear brake while you tighten the nut, but this isn't quite so easy.
A slotted screwdriver is needed to undo the clutch nuts, If you have a bike like your name suggests, then you probably already have the BSA tool for this?

Whereabouts do you live? There may well be another Morini rider near to you who is prepared to lend them rather than the expense of posting?

You also need an adapter for the nut that holds the gears for the oilpump in place (on the lh-side of the crank).

I believe the Dutch Moriniclub had some of these made a while ago, you can ask Tony:

A friend of mine also has a tool that holds the flywheel in place (apart from the puller), pls send a pb for his address when interested.
