Tre e mezzo - kick start

Post by TimG. »

Does any have a 3 1/2 (sport) kick start assembly or kick start knuckle spare that they are willing to let me have?

Cheers.

They're different over the years Tim, though all might fit all for all I know. What year is your bike?

When I got my drum-brake Strada it had a kickstart off a much later K series. I swapped that for a Sport kickstart and then found an original Strada kickstart, so the Sport one went onto the 501-engined 3 1/2. So I reckon they are universally interchangeable.

The bike is 1982 if that makes any difference...

It would be really helpful if you said why you need a kickstart lever/pivot.

If it's to clear a set of rearsets, then only one type will work and they're in somewhat short supply, which is why NLM have been making their own.

NLM advised me to get a 3 1/2 (sport) kick start assembly or kick start knuckle...... The bike is currently without a kick start and electric start only.

It is to clear rear sets -let me know what you have, please!

Here's the Sport kickstart with the extender block to give space to clear the rear-sets. It's the extender block that's hard to find. NLM have made swan-neck kickstarts to give the necessary clearance but I think they've had some technical problems (snapping) and are testing a new batch.
