Gear lever.

Post by Mark »

Hi all.
The bush in the standard gear lever of my current project 350 K1 is solidly rusted in place and so far resisting all my attempts to free it. Any diy ideas other than hit it with a hammer and drift or soak it in WD40 (both tried) will be appreciated.
Otherwise, has anybody got a spare lever and bush which they can part with?
Cheers.

Try a 'proper' release oil - that's not what WD40 is! Buy a proprietry one (Bricomarche, etc) or a mixture of acetone and ATF. I normally use straight diesel.
Also, persevere with cold, heat & percussion.

Cheers Ming.
I'll pop up to the local bricomarche at the weekend.
Ciao.
