Original shocks for a 74 3 1/2

Post by Db7gtgrigio »

My bike is very very very original and to finish it off Id like to have a set of original shocks - Marzocchi I think with chrome springs. I think Sport and Strada had identical shocks. Has anyone got anything in the shed?

I'm in Australia but they can be mailed to my Dad in Buckinghamshire.

I have an original shell type horn and a later 3 1/2 airbox in super condition to trade if necessary.

Cheers everyone.

I often see pics of early 350 Morinis with original shocks but they are nearly always minus the rubber cap/shroud on the top. In Melbourne, Australia, there is a business that makes all sorts of rubber stuff (and other parts) for vintage Ducatis.

Their website shows a rubber cap/shroud for early SS and Sport Ducatis. "Early SS and Sport rear shocker caps (pair) $20.00" I went to see him once (despite my user name, I am in Oz) and those caps do fit the early (1975 at least) 350 Morini shocks. (I had thought the Ducati shocks/springs would have been a larger diameter than the Morini shocks.) I did not actually buy the caps, but only because I didn't have the correct amount of $ with me. I still intend to get them.

I have no connection to this business other than having met the proprietor, Damien, on that one occasion.

Please verify, as much as you can, that the caps will fit Morini shocks. Do not take my word for it.

when I find some shocks I will get some shrouds from bevel rubber, I happen to also have roundcase Ducati and have bought parts from Damien in the past good quality stuff.
