Aren't they made new anymore? Borrani was back in business a year or 5 ago?

Yes Tom, you can buy new ones but wheelbuilders tell me the quality is not the same as the old ones, in any case I would rather have a rim which is in period if I can, also I don't fancy spending nearly £200 when I can get the same thing without the Borraani stamping for £60, much rather have a period one.

That´s the problem Pedro! You can have a brandnew rim for about the third part than a 40year old one that you have to spend work on, but without the Borrani stamp on it  At least over here the original ones have become very expensive :(

Pete, Last time I had a wheel built I used George at Maidstone Motorliner, he did a good job, his Grandad used to do my wheels years ago. You would have to ask for George as his boss lets him do wheelbuilding as a sideline.

I was told the newer Borrani rims are Chinese made and then sent to Borrani to get stamped. I sent away my old rims and had them refinished. They came out nice. Since they were used on other makes, you might find a used one on eBay or other sites.

Beautiful, just lovely,
This is the image I have in my head, it would be a shame to have second best when you are so nearly there with the real thing.
I recently found one on ebay for sale, (after looking for a year) from an Aermacchi, but perfect with the correct drillings for a big hub, stupidly I let myself get outbid, since no one else had bid on it I put a reasonable (cheap) bid on it and got outbid at the last second. Oh well, live and learn, (or perhaps not)

What number are you after Pedro Wm2 18 x 36 ... ?

Or do you only need 'a Borrani' wm 2 36 spokes with the correct angle for the big 230mm drum?

I have the numbers for the wire wheel disc braked Morini 3 1/2 Sport, but not for the drum braked sport.

Here they are:
Front: Borrani Record WM2 - 1.85
18-36 RM01-4700

Rear: Borrani Record WM3 - 2.15
18-36 RM01-4623/1

In return I 'd like to know the number for the discbrake version... I have the hub, and since the 230 mm drum is hard to find I'll use that one for the next project ;)
