Left-side shift linkage

Post by holeinthehead »

The saga continues on my 350 - I've managed to break the link on the shifter assembly for my left-side shifter. It's the actuator arm that connects to the actual foot lever on the left side - before the turn-links. I tried to open the clamp a little and the splines have cracked.

I see one that I can adapt from a Kanguro on ebay, but thought I'd see if anyone here had a spare before I paid through the nose..?

Hello, I recently had one break on my 500 Camel and then had to ride home in third gear and fortunately for the clutch it wasn't far. On examination the crack/break was rusty with little clean metal showing; it had cracked near the weld for the pinch bolt. I had one from a later 501 Camel linkage which had a longer lever, which I cut back and drilled a new hole; it is probably the same as the Kanguru linkage you've looked at.
Hopefully someone will have one lurking in their shed, good luck

Sorry tried to upload a photo but the file was too big.
