Complete Starter motor

Post by geoffmac »

I need a complete starter motor for my X3 Kanguro. I am told that all Electric start Morinis of this period have the same motor, although, as a newcomer to this wonderful exotic Italian stuff, I've no idea whether this is correct or not.
Does anyone have a complete starter motor for sale?

Last tim I sold one, I was told by the puchaser that North Leicester were quoting almost a £1000 for the complete set-up

That's very interesting, people were giving them away at once upon a time, I bought a couple for next to nothing.

Here's a motor in working order.

https://www.milanuncios.com/recambios-y ... 028924.htm

I've bought from them before. Spares are guaranteed but he won't budge much on the price.
You can also pay through paypal but he adds a 6% fee.
Good luck.

I have a few 500 starters in storage, are they the same as X3's?
Do you only need the starter motor or also gears/lid?

I believe the 500 is the same as the 350. What price do you want?

Andre - I need the complete starter motor plus the clutch and drive system. I have the brake drum on the generator and the spigot/shaft in the outside of the case, but nothing else.

I fear the worst - your journey to the "dark side" has clearly not gone well. I hope you return safely!

There’s a complete engine inc starter on eBay Italy.

No idea who the seller is or condition etc.

Buying a complete motor may seen a bit extreme but it’s always good to have spares, and the price is fair if it’s in reasonable condition.

... and if you are prepared to travel, or pay a transport company, there are plenty of Morinis in Spain - have a look at https://www.milanuncios.com/motos-de-se ... 50&cch=600
900€ for a tatty K2, Excaliburs 350 and 501, from 350€ upwards, a New York and a Dart. Sounds like paradise...

I wandered off in the wrong direction... spring like temperatures this weekend made me almost forget my search. I have to b ein the garage anyway tonight so I'll get back tomorrow with hopefully good news :)

went out last night but forum was down so here is the list of sought & found
* 4 engine covers
* 3 starter motors
* 2 starter relays
* 1 large sprocket
* no starter clutch nor parts
* no drive chains

I do have one complete assy but I need that for one of my own projects.
If you can source the missing parts so you can assemble a complete kit yourself give me a PM what you need from me...
