Rearsets for 500 SEI V Sport?

Post by spub »

I have a US version 500 V Sport. This has a left hand shift/right side brake cross over conversion. The rear brake master cylinder is not on the left side of the bike, but is on the right side.

Does anyone know of a rear set that has been adapted for this model? The Tarrozi sets for a 500 appear to be for models with the brake cylinder on the left hand side. Also, given the X over, the shift lever on the left would have to mate up with the end of the X over rod.

If anyone has made a custom set, guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Just noticed on Wolgang Tritsches website a 500 with rearsets that appear would work. Anyone familiar with this set up? Thanks for any help that could be lent.

I know this will be of limited use to those out there, since it only applies to 500s with left hand shift, which I understand are scarce on the ground. But, if you happen to have a 500 with left hand shift and wish to install rear sets, the standard Tarozzi set up will not work. My bike did not have a threaded end to the swing arm axle for the top bolt nor the threaded lug that lined up for the bottom bolt to properly mount a tarozzi left hand plate. However, Wolfgang Tritsch makes a mount for Tarozzi rear sets that attaches inside the rear muffler mounting triangle, and uses the muffer mount bolt to attach to the frame. The set comes with Tarozzi shift and brake levers, ball joint rod ends, and connecting rods. Mounts a bit further back and a bit higher than the Tarozzi set up. This is a simple bolt on set up that has made riding my 500 much less of a contortionist exercise.....

Spub,

I have refrained from posting before as my 500 SeiV is a RH changer but I do have a set of rear sets on it.

I'm guessing you are the same guy as on the Laverda forum. I'm not on it any more and I come here only a few times a year.

If you would like to ask me any questions or get me to take a pic then let Cosi or Drikko know and they can contact me.

Cheers

Thanks, but got it sorted. Yup, I'm on the Laverda site; seems there are a few of us on both sites...
