Clutch woes

Post by pedro »

I have always had a nice smooth clutch, but it has always proved impossible to select neutral at a standstill, or most times even when moving. Time came to have a look. Following Paul's excellent youtube tutorial, I took the plates out to find that although clean and straight, the dished plate was near the centre and the thin bonded plate was second one in. I reassembled it with the thin plate first in followed by the dished plate. I can now select neutral at a standstill, but the clutch is noisy when pulled in, before it was silent. Careful adjustment has made no difference. Any thoughts please!

Characteristic dry clutch rattle now that the plates are separating properly!

Thanks Paul, I'll put my helmet on and try to ignore it then, only bothered me because my other Morini's select neutral perfectly and don't rattle. It's not Ducati type noise anyway, just annoying.
