Morning all, does any one have any experience in stripping and repair of the speed indication machine. Or is this a no no and should be left to an expert.
Reason being mine gets to about sixty and won't go any further, any input welcomed.
Thanks
Graham
Ps the cable looks in good nick and I've cleaned and very lightly greased all bar the top 100 mm.

I was asked about Speedo repairs at the MRC rave last weekend (This is for you, Charles!)...

There used to be a man in deepest, darkest Devon who fixed Speedos, and he did the work on the club bike, but it appears he no longer does this work for the MRC. However, I understand there may be another person who does Speedo work, but did not get a name. I will endeavour to find out.

Regards,

Mike.

Check the Speedo drive gearbox before pulling the Speedo head apart. Damaged gears can cause this symptom. Also that the square ends of the cable are in good condition and not slipping in the drive holes. Have stripped down a Speedo in the past only to find it was a gearbox drive problem.
