Electronic Tachometer

Post by acemorini »

Hello All, after riding through a torrential rain fall today my electronic tachometer went mad, not a problem it will dry out, went back out about 6/7 hours later tachometer was working but the needle was not very steady like normal bit like it had no damping just a rough moment and fluctuating up and down even with the throttle held constant and on a flat road.
My question is is there any form of damping for the needle, or will it just dry right out over time ?
Regards Pete.

The damping is done by special very high viscosity oil that fills a well surrounding the bottom bearing. It escapes over time and the only fix is to open the instrument and replace the oil.
