42.08.20 Hydraulic Brake Set, or fork damper...

Post by Jack »

Has anyone any idea where I could get hold of a couple of new nylon fork bushese for this item (35mm Marzzochi's), or indeed any spares for these forks?
The bushes are serviceable, but whilst the forks are apart having new fork seals and a service I thought I might try to improve matters!
Any (sensible) help appreciated!

Hi,

I do not know if this company (Zanardini) is shipping at present but you could try.

As far as I know, replacement fork damper rod seals were never available. They were cheap molded items anyway and I've always machined my own replacements where needed.

At some point I'll get back to my upgraded damper rods and cartridge emulator project.
Soren has used my design and has a video on youtube.

Paul, what kind of material did you use for de fork damper rod seals?

I noticed that in the Marzocchi forks there are two in each leg, meanwhile in the earlier Pailoli (drum brake) ones ther is only one wider one.

If I remember it well the seals in the Marzocchi fork have a kind of spring underneath, the paioli one don´t have this spring. Do you think that they are realy necesary?

Nylon mostly, though I have done them in PTFE with an O ring expander.

You haven't seen enough forks. There are many different arrangements of rings from both manufacturers.
