I have just discovered that my recently purchased 501 is completely devoid of any clutch plates.
All that mine has present is the clutch basket.
I am completely new to Morinis.
Where do I go from here?
Straight to NLM, or is this the kind of component that members might have for sale, or is there some other source that members can recommend for this complete component.
Any advice will be gratefully received.
Many thanks,
Geoff
501 clutch missing
Re: 501 clutch missing
I usually advise buying a complete set of plates (friction and steel) anyway. For the small extra cost it helps guarantee a smooth clutch action.
Are you missing springs, cups and nuts too?
There's a clutch rebuild series on my YouTube channel.

Re: 501 clutch missing
Hello Paul,
I have been viewing your clutch rebuild videos this afternoon.
It was after viewing the videos that I realised that I am missing not just all the plates, but the male centre mount for the plates, and all the cups, nuts, springs, thrust washer, mushroom pushrod and locking nut.
I only have the outer basket.
Can you or fellow members advise where best to obtain the above missing parts?

Re: 501 clutch missing
You can't beat a new clutch hub, it takes the brunt of the wear. Ridges in the hub can cause the plates to hang up resulting in clutch drag.
