Hi Jamie, sounds like you have mounted the breather box in the right place; behind the rear cylinder and in front of the tool tray with the flat surface of the breather box facing the rear/tool tray and the four pipes to the top.

MX580 Instruction manual: http://www.morinispecial.it/joomla/imag ... _MX580.pdf

The original 38mm forks should be fully extended before closing the air bleed screws and work best with this volume of air inside.

As your forks have gold sliders, schrader valves and a disc brake they are probably from an electric start 350 Kanguro or 501 Camel ?

Great thanks Ian!

I believe my forks are from the second series 501 square tubed, electric start Camel, just need to find out the specific fork model now.

Thanks for the manual link, looks like i need circa 120 psi in my rear shocks.

Booked her in for her first MOT Saturday, fingers crossed.

Cheers,
Jamie

Hi Folks,

I thoughts I'd better actually put a pic up of my Camel, piccie was taken a couple of weeks ago whilst attempting a little green laning during that spell of good weather.

Since importing her in Oct I've carried out a few tasks:

Forks stripped, new seals, upper bushes and oil
New rear Drum wheel bearings
TKC 80 tyres fitted
Chain guard fitted
Tappets set and a Helicoil fitted to one of the front tappet cover screws, new tappet gaskets for both cylinders
Correct front and rear mudguards fitted
Carbs stripped, serviced and balanced
Throttle cable shortened
Clutch cable replaced
Brighter all glass headlight and bulb fitted
Engine breather system re-fitted
Original tool tray and battery box bought and fitted
New battery
Gear shift changed to the left, rear brake lever fitted with cable etc fitted
New front speedo cable
Front caliper stripped and cleaned as the leaking fork seals had totally soaked the old caliper and pads
Spark plug gaps set

Still to do:

Service the rear shocks
Fit replica side panels, spray tank and fit new badges
Clutch needs adjusting as she's snatchy and prone to stall when setting off once warm (possibly beyond my capabilities)
I suspect I'm still not getting the best from the engine so may need to take her into a specialist for a check over :)

Lastly I've turned the shocks around since the photo above so they're correctly orientated now!

Cheers,
Jamie

HI, about the clutch: check plate number and order. There is one convex steel plate and that goes as second plate. The first plate is a 2.5mm surflex, all others are 3.5mm surflex or flat steel

Also worth checking the hub/basket end play and shimming if appropriate.
