this buyer had them advertised on Subito without picture on Subito for 200 euro's, had to mail to get the pictures. In his first reply he mentioned that the responce was so overwhelming he posted the pictures with the ad. Whne I checked the price was lifted to 300 euro's :?
I answered they were indeed the proper exhausts for a Morini but I found it strange that the price had gone up... no reply. next day price was up to 380 euro's... so I guess there is no room for negotiation
the ad has been removed from Subito so it could be that they sold already

Ha TinTin, we have had the same education i guess, but this is not how the market of offer and demand works unfortunately, expecially if we are talking business with Italians (hey not trying to be a racist here).

And crazy wooden shoed Dutch guy jumping his Spagetti (with or without meatballs after the done deal), doesn't work so well either

Unless you have had a deal with him or her, the seller has the right to do whatever he likes with it, and there are a lot off Italians (second time, not being a racist here) who are overprizing their goodies on ebay.it, waiting for one crazy nut to pay his (or her) prize.

So, whatz tha problem?

Saying: There are (of course) also all lot of Italian sellers who keep a reasonable price in mind and are o so kind and social, so for God sake there is still hope!

So, I think it was your big Dutch mouth with has shut the door

just informed about the photo's and asked him why he raised his price, no hard feelings!
Nothing was promised nor we had a deal, just surprised you advertise items at €200 and increase the price to €500 within a few days... better to do your homework before you put in the ad

Why not make your own? I have made all my own exhausts either 2-2 or 2-1. If you have a pattern then you can get the tube manipulators to scan the pipes and then reproduce, you just have to finish them off or you can buy the section bends and weld them together and in nice shiny S.S. if you want. Same for the silencers, if they are cones then get a sheet metal firm to roll them for you and then weld the input sleeves so that the pipes slip in, buy the perforated tube to go inside, pinch some glass fibre from the loft space to stuff in to keep it quiet and then either pop rivet or weld a closing piece to the large end if you do not have any spun cones to stick in the end.

Now then, some folk (present company excepted) prefer their Morinis utterly original, or at least with period correct accessories !

As to Ebay.it, I have general had a good experience with sellers, even if they don't obviously advertise shipping to the UK. I did also get something from another Italian site but I'm not sure it was 'subito' <checks> ah it was kijiji.it. That was for a 'SO' Gilera though.

I hear what is said about stuff on Ebay at HFM? prices. Then when it comes to acquiring unobtainium, market forces are very much in vogue these days unfortunately. I've found one dealer on Ebay.it who has reasonable prices though and even more importantly charges a reasonable amount for carriage to the UK - gigs-motorcycles, who have some Morini bits amongst their vast stock. Well worth putting a realistic offer on their BIN price.

Looks as if they are down to 480 now. A pity there is no 'best offer' option. Now a case of holding your nerve in what has effectively become a Dutch auction ;)
