Morini kj125 parts required

Post by Norton »

Hi all,
Just bought myself a kj125. Its a very long shot but if anyone has any spares they don't need I would be interested. Not entirely sure what I need yet but any thing would be appreciated.
Cheers,

Heh - the one on Ebay last week? I was tempted to bid on it myself.

One thing that put me off was the number of KJ125 specific parts. Plus I probably would have been tempted to try and squeeze a 350 engine in to it - so you have saved it ;)

I hope you can at least get it back on the road. At least some ignition components (transducer anyway) may be common with the 250/350s - which are the most likely things needing replacing to get it running again by the sound of "tired electrics".

Keep us posted with progress in the 'Projects' section of the forum.

That's the one. Never heard of that model myself till I saw it. He managed to get it running for me, but the bike needs a full recondition. I believe the engine is the same as the road version. It's going to be the rest of it that will be hard to source, ie its got a 350 exhaust on it. I am not too bothered about keeping it 100% original, just want to get it on the road.

The engine is the same as the 125H as far as I can see. Quite a few of those around - more than KJ125s for sure. I imagine the cylinder, piston and head are also the same as 250 twin.

Sounds as though you are looking at the usual Morini stator rewind and possibly the rotor needs re-magnetising.

Have fun.

The best place to look for parts is eBay Italy and Germany, every now and again you see body work parts come up, there are plenty of engine parts and as far as i know the engine is the same as the 125 H. Best of luck with the project.

Saw that post as well. Looks like it wouldn't take much to get that one sorted. Unfortunately it's a fair trek from me and I don't think my missus would be too happy if another bike turned up in my garage. Hopefully whoever buys it is a member on here and we can compare info about them as there is not much to be found on the Web.
