Tail Light Lens

The US models of the Corsaro were called Hurricane, Cyclone or Jaguar.
In the US, Sbarazzino was called Thunder Chief

Tail Light Lens

Post by Brennus » 17 Apr 2010, 18:21

Well, I've finally started to get to the point financially where I can do a few things to the Jaguar. I still haven't found an original air cleaner like the one I lost :( but I have found an aftermarket replacement from the UK dellorto site that should suit me til I can find another. Now I am looking for the tail light lens. You had mentioned a man from Mr. Luc Stoppini in the Netherlands (this was a year ago, pardon for my delay!). I finally have some pictures of the rear light. Also, though, I have found a few different ones that may work on ebay.it. If you could put me into contact with any of the other Corsaro owners, I could ask them what number is on the lens itself.

Mine is a CEV part, but only one of these three is CEV, leading me to believe that is the one I am looking for. Going by the pictures on the Corsaro owner's page, it looks right, but I haven't seen any close detailed ones.

Thanks a ton for any help you can offer me, this sight has been the only useful resource I have found on getting information on my bike so far!

No problem: you should never rush a restauration, but enjoy it and take your time!!

Yes, Mr. Stoppini is your man! See www.brommertje.nl
I can phone him tomorrow. Perhaps he even has an airfilter.

The English owner of the black Corsaro had finished his restauration successfully and had now put the bike up for sale, see the advertisement section of this site (3rd one down). You can send him an e-mail.

I cannot be of much help here, as I only have later Morini v-twins (1973 & 1984) and I am certainly no expert on the Corsaro 125.

Thank you!

Thanks a ton! It is very kind of you to get in touch with him for me. If you ask about the air cleaner, it is a UBF20BS carb, but I do not know what part number the cleaner itself is. I will drop an email to the owner of the black Corsaro (mine happens also to be the rare black color!). Again, you have been more than helpful, and it is far more than I could have ever expected from a stronger online!

I agree that it is something to savor: it is a work of passion! It is not a terribly valuable bike over here in the States, but it is no less beautiful, and its rarity makes it all the more sentimental.

Also, I am very sorry for the past upload. Here is a second attempt. I am away for a couple of weeks, and had to have someone take these for me, but the second one didn't turn out too well.

Spoke to Mr. Stoppini on the phone this morning. He has got 2 different lenses for the taillight: straight at the back and non-straight. You should be able to find it on his website: www.brommertje.nl Unfortunately, the photo's you posted are so much out of focus that I can't see which one you need. Should have a picture from the side.

www.brommertje.nl
follow 'brommers' (=mopeds) and next page 'onderdelen' (=parts).
At the bottom 'volgende' (=next page).

Perhaps he can help with the airfilter. But again, a good photo would help, as I have no idea what it should look like. Is it round, with a kind of metal 'netting' (gauze??). If so, does it "plug-in/push-in" to the air inlet, or does it screw-in? About 1/2 an inch thick??

Tell you what: in two weeks time I will be back with my bike, and I will be able to take some proper pictures and such myself. Thanks again for your help, and I'll be back in a couple of weeks.
