Re: Fuel tap off

Well, like Paul said if you disconnect the fuel line you will find out how to turn off the tap in a hurry. For me, the off position is when the lever points to the front of the bike. Although i'm using the stock Paoli tap and one from a Guzzi that has the fuel fitting exit from the bottom of the cub...

Re: Help identify a Morini Single

I have that exact same bike at home and people always ask when am I going to paint it? I say huh? They say, well its primer gray you know.... I like mine, but its incredibly heavy. I'd like to put a solo seat on mine. Pauls right, its a turismo and has a very low compression ratio which makes it a j...

Stuck clutch plates and stripped buttons

Well my strada project was making progress until I got to the clutch. The plates are stuck and I tried everything to free them. Kicking over with the clutch in. Running it on the centerstand with clutch in and then hiting the rear brake. Rocking it back and forth..nothing seems to work. The bike sat...

Re: USA Only: Which Oil?

I've always used Rotella in my wet clutch bikes, or was it Guzzis(dry clutch), I cant remember. I think Rotella has low friction additives so it wouldnt make the clutch slip. Not an issue for Morinis, or Guzzis, wth was I using it? Are you after something with zddp designed for flat tappet motors? T...

Re: Very early 350 Strada?

Rubber intake stubs look like 2nd series to me. My early strada has aluminum intake elbows and hoop rings to hold the gauges. Despite that its still lovely and the rubber intakes might be an improvement.

Re: Another project wont start well and is kicking back...

Here's a good one and self sorted(for now). So re read the manual, and it says if you didnt disturb either cam or crank pulley no need to reset the timing. So I pulled the belt, lined up the pulley marks and put the belt back on. The bike started right up of course. Weird part is the pickup rotor is...

Another project wont start well and is kicking back...

Alrighty then, brought home another late model 350 a few weeks back. No title so not sure of the year, but not too bad all in all and will turn over. But, the timing belt was broken. So I cleaned up the heads and everything looks fine. I put a new timing belt on and thought I timed it correctly. So ...

Re: WTB Early Strada parts

You are correct, and I believe the sport had a larger retaining nut, something like 26x1 on the early models. I updated my post.

WTB Early Strada parts

Was hoping you could help during my build. I'll update this as the needs arise. Sadly, I have a pretty complete parts bike but it has a different triple tree assembly where the fastener is a bolt into the stem.My bike is probably a 1975-6 Strada, F&R drums, wire wheels Parts Needed: 42.08.19 sle...

Re: Strada Hbar Silent Block bushings

Anyone happen to know if the H Bar risers on the early stradas are the same used by some of the later dirt bikes? These look very similar to my strada risers. It looks like these have a bolt recessed in them for the shaft. My strada part # is 42.08.08. http://www.ebay.it/itm/RISER-MANUBRIO-MOTO-MORI...

Re: Strada Hbar Silent Block bushings

Are the frame threads 1.0 or 1.25? I've never successfully removed those knobs. My 2 bikes both have seized bolts.

Re: LED headlight bulbs

I had planned on making a 6v LED bulb for my smaller bikes with a CREE Xre or other and custom optic. I was going to have a friend machine a lump of aluminum into the size and shape of the bulb ballast used in the reflector. I think the bulb is kind of a push/twist lock into place. Do you guys know ...
