Re: Gauges rebuildable?
Hi George, the only problem I can see is the glass is broken in both clocks.

Re: LED headlight bulbs
You guys should look at a custom built solution using a CREE XML or similar. Im trying to build one for my ducati scrambler but my neighbors lathe is out of service. The LED's can handle the power spikes, vibes, and run off a driver and resistor if you need a low beam. The lumens are insane!

Re: Gauges rebuildable?
I'm betting a very small screwdriver with some electrical tape on the end might be able to pry the old one off. If the old bezel is damaged throw it away. Now how to crimp the new one in place is another matter. Maybe a large OD hose clamp or a punch? Here's someone at it, http://www.v11lemans.com/f...

Re: Correct light switches for early strada
Ralph, thanks for the videos. I'm guessing that is CEV kit right? If anyone can point me towards an ebay auction or online listing i'd be very grateful.
Thanks,
Toby

Re: Cafe' tank and seat?
A fabricator friend of mine started work an a aluminum tank for me. I found an original w nice patina and pulled the plug on the order. If you want I could get you in touch with him. Im guessing the cost would be 3-400. He does excellent work and it will fit the bike as he has my old tank as a model.

Correct light switches for early strada
Anyone have pics or info of the correct light switch on the early stradas? Mine is double drum brakes and wire wheels. I believe it had the pill/snuff box switches but they are long gone and the bar too. Was trying to put this thing back in order correctly.

Gauges rebuildable?
Are the gauges rebuildable? There's a nice kit on ebay in the states. Comes with new glass, o-ring, and bevel ring. But I cant see how to take mine apart. The retaining ring looks like its pressed on. My bike is an early drum brake strada. Maybe you have to pry the retainer off with a small screwdri...

Hey there, Randy Long was able to repair mine for a very reasonable cost and the craftmanship was excellent. He is in the states.

Strada wheel rebuild
Hey gang, i've stripped down my 75 strada rear wheel to rebuild. Its a steel rim and aluminum hub model. Strangely painted black... In the process i've gained new respect for the tire fitters of the world(Wasnt that a Budgie song?). Now i'm wondering a few things...Did the stradas come with painted ...

Re: 175 Turismo oil filter
You can find those screws in Germany. These guys carry them in kits. http://www.ebay.it/sch/schrauben-profi/ ... pg=&_from= I have a very old hardware store near me that also carries them. My 250cc has the same problem. Along with many other problems....

Re: 175 Turismo oil feed to rocker box
Sounds like a worn exhaust valve guide. Pull the head and check the tolerance between valve and guide. You can guess the tolerance by removing the valve spring and collets. Then put the valve in the guide and try to wiggle it back and forth. If it rattles then the guide is worn and will need replace...

Petcock info needed
I'm getting closer with my stranda. I secured a very clean early tank in that crazy period metallic blue. Good chrome on the fuel tap and no rust. But it has no petcocks. I've found a source for the 16x1.0mm taps. I need to ask you all what orientation the fuel fittings require. The petcocks have a ...

Re: Valve Timing
Tobymv Here's how I did it: I first brought the front piston to TDC and also set valve clearance to 1.0mm. I then turned the camshaft pulley clockwise until the 1.0mm clearance on the inlet valve was taken up (I could not twist the inlet pushrod anymore). With the inlet cam/rocker now just about to...
