Re: Bogging down/ rough running problem

Hi Mark The is very helpful- sincere thanks. I didn't realise the timing would be advanced on these blue boxes. I'll need to get a strobe that shows RPM as you say. I have earthed yellow wires to headstock already and not using white. Thanks again and I'll let you know how I get on. Hope I can get a...

9E18705D-3DAE-4ED0-B0FA-B2F79BD75402.jpeg Hi George- many thanks for you very generous offer. Before I take it up can you look at this image. The brown section within the magnetic yellow metal appears a bit damaged. It isn’t magnetic but yellow metal is. Is the damage possibly a problem? What does ...

Re: Bogging down/ rough running problem

D652AC0B-89DB-4E3D-9DAA-9984F606D29D.jpeg I hope you can see the image of my red pickup here. I wonder if you can say it looks fine or is it impossible to tell? I understand it may be impossible to see cracks here but I can’t see any in real life…just thought I’d try you guys some more! I’ve remove...

Re: Bogging down/ rough running problem

Thanks Bumblebee and Mark- I may need a rebuild of pickup...I need to strobe the bike also but when I try the dam strobe doesn't flash...not sure how to test it- it's new but maybe faulty- any ideas how test? The corroded plug lead - I have clipped the ends of the leads at spark plug end and also co...

Re: Bogging down/ rough running problem

Thanks Norbert- yes I do have the Red pickup and will see if I can find replacement to borrow and see if its the issue. I may just throw money at it and buy a replacement- just sold my Laverda 3ce for good money so Morini can have some!

Re: Bogging down/ rough running problem

Many thanks Mark- I will examine carefully. Presumably if there are cracks in the resin of the pickup I will need to get a replacement from Marcus Heilig ?<mheilig@freenet.de>. The Alternator magneto stator Coil....I had one coil rewound- the single small one...but just found this for sale- maybe I ...

Re: Bogging down/ rough running problem

Hi All- My current situation with this 'problem' is that the bike starts an runs beautifully and then after about two miles or less depending, I think, on temperature I=the bike begins to stutter /falter and not rev smoothly especially if I open throttle fast- in low or high gear. I have checked the...

Re: Bogging down/ rough running problem

Many thanks again!! I’ll def look at woodruff key and belt. I feel it’s electric issue and timing or spark occuring at wrong time or intermittently. Really appreciate the time you all spend on writing detailed replies. All useful and just have to decide which order to try them!
Best - Matt

Re: Bogging down/ rough running problem

I’m going to check all these things before buying more carb parts as in past the current carb settings and parts have worked. Timing should be checked anyway and I’ve never checked the woodruff key. Belt replaced not very long ago but perhaps wrong size? I’ll check that…if all that is ok I’ll spend ...

Re: Bogging down/ rough running problem

Many thanks John. I put new chokes on quite recently and so I think they are OK. I’ll def check fuel stops when I lift the float. I do wonder if float height correct but I always find it a bit hard to know exactly where to measure but I’ll make an effort and do that. I’m running 43 pilots. Standard ...
