Re: Stainless exhaust collars
interesting points about Stainless collars, which i had considered (i was going to use aluminum grease) and decent replacements are unobtainable... I'm now looking at lengths of brass tubing... i could get 100mm 50mm tube with a 35mm inner diameter for about £40 . then i just need a machine shop to ...

Re: Stainless exhaust collars
Are you sure, that stainless esxhaust collars are the adequade material to insert in our heads? I have a brand new pair of them since years. But building up Dulcinea I decided not to use them. Maybe with ceramic or copper paste it will do, but in my opinion this cobination of material is not the be...

Re: Stainless exhaust collars
Another thing Oli, As an addition to your rebuild, you mentioned in CBG about M7 nuts and bolts. DW Middleton stainless sell them, in nyloc too. Perfectly ok for rocker trunnions and brake torque arms on Sports/Stradas. (Bolt only there to hold torque arm in place on welded on collar). It's only th...

Stainless exhaust collars
I bought one of these to replace a chromed/bronze one that had to be destroyed to remove it. It only screws in about halfway, and then sticks. I've tried on three different heads, and it's the same on each. My remaining Bronze collar screws in just fine. Do the bronze collars wear, making them easie...

Re: speedo drive removal
Hi Ollie I had my wheels done by AC in Yeovil. They did an excellent job of masking everywhere I asked for (including the speedo drive etc etc) and achieved a very good finish. They spectographically analysed the paint on the rim under the tyre to get the 'correct' colour too. Thanks! Yeovil is fai...

speedo drive removal
I have searched for an answer to this, but can't find it. can anyone suggest a successful method of taking the speedo worm drive off a cast wheel? My Strada's wheels have a ruined finish, and i want to get them restored, but most powder coaters need the wheel bare. i can get the bearings out but tha...

500 model names
a question: I've always thought the 500 roadster came with two names, the 500 Maestro and the 500 sei-v.
Was there ever a 500 Sport or a 500 Strada and if there was, were they sold as such in the UK?

Bottom end strip
I'm undertaking a bottom end strip on a long abandoned (long story) engine that has been sitting with it's barrels off and has a lot of dried in oil residue and may have debris inside. The engine doesn't appear to have any appreciable wear. I have three current issues. 1: how do I get the two heavil...

Re: Strada/kanguro Hybrid
That's brilliant news, thanks. There's no dish on the rotor, and no case, but I've a spare one of those. Thanks again Steve!

Re: Kanguro
Can you fit Strada electrics (rotor, coils, transducer pick up, loom etc) to a Kanga engine?
I've got all the above electrics and a Kanga engine, but it feels as though I may have jumped in a bit quickly...

Strada/kanguro Hybrid
In the middle of my Strada rebuild I've bought a Kanguro engine for a very reasonable price (someone had tried to put it in a hardtail chopper frame and given up). It was a quick decision and I didn't do my homework. But i would have bought it anyway as a source of spares... Anyway I now have two an...
