Thanks Jen that's what I thought and kind of puts me off as I am unsure if I would use it otherwise - I already have Makita 18v tools so probably be looking at one if them if I dud decide And to Mickey - I have always tightened with a torque wrench (which also needs calibrating) would continue to do...

I seem to remember an old post saying to be careful to remove any new powdercoat that would bear on the drive when it was replaced as this extra width could split the ring when refitted.

I'm not sure if it was stood but certainly had running issues which needed to be resolved so it is possible as it couldn't have gone far - although there was no sign of any corrosion in the barrels. I presume the ring had gone on one cylinder first as it was using some oil, then when the second cyli...

both of mine went as well, not long after I got it, the bores were clean. The engine went to NLM for a check over the heads and barrels and they could nit give a specific reason either.
