Re: Rocker breather pipes
I fitted some "ethanol proof" fuel lines shortly after I bought the bike as the ones that were on it were quite hard and inflexible. Absolutely the right thing to do. I'll be replacing mine soon. I remember the days when we didn't ever worry about such things. You could even leave a can o...

Re: Rocker breather pipes
Yes, I believe the original breather pipes were clear flexible plastic. Over time they would become more yellowish and get harder. I'm fairly sure the ones on my bike are the originals (1983) as they are a deep treacly orange colour and would probably snap like a carrot if I tried to bend them! They...

Re: Front fork stanchions / front mudguard
Hi Steve. Sorry to hear of your mis-hap. :( I have a steel front mudguard which I may be willing to part with. It is a little bit scruffy with some paint loss but fundamentally sound. I bought it for my 3½ but I imagine the 500 ones are the same. If you want to check, the mudguard is 132mm wide wher...

Re: Long shot Motos Italiana
Hi Steve. I don't know anything about Motos Italiana or the man behind it , but flicking through the website there are one or two clues. I think the bike side of things was a serious hobby rather than a business. There is mention of owning a language school in Aracena. In 2011 Andy, also known as An...

Ah, excellent!
Three 1200 Morinis is a great showing.
I shall keep an eye out for any photos.
Jenny.

Re: Classic Bike, September issue
Ah! Splendid! :D You know Brands Hatch better than I do. 8) I know what you mean about the King's Highway. You can be waiting at some traffic lights and still end up in a sticky mess. Race track? Much safer. Still, the CRMC Season Ender should be a great event. Lots of stunning bikes. Hopefully Mike...

Re: Welcome new forum members - introduce yourself
Hi Graham. Welcome to the Club and the Forum. Hopefully you will be receiving the Club magazine 'A Tutto Gas'. That will contain details of the gatherings of the Warwickshire Section. Regarding a Morini 500 Sport, there is currently one for sale on ebay. Here is the link... https://www.ebay.co.uk/it...

Re: Classic Bike, September issue
Glad to hear the recovery is going well, Richard. By the way, Mike's Strada and Race Bike are pictured on page 34 of the latest A Tutto Gas (397). You ought to go along to Brands Hatch if you can. As it is the last meeting of the season there will be some very close racing and Brands Hatch is a very...

Re: Classic Bike, September issue
Thanks for that, Richard. (Hope you are recovering well, by the way). It certainly is a splendid Morini race bike. Mike currently has a fairly comfortable lead in the Championship, due to consistency as he said, but it isn't all over yet. There are three or four other riders who could still steal it...

Re: New club member
Hi Eric. Welcome to the Forum. I would guess that your bike is an X2. The X1 had round frame tubes, I'm not sure of the differeces between X2 and X3. There are some photos here from the Dutch Morini Club archive which may offer a few clues.... https://www.morini-riders-club.com/Nederland/various6.ht...
Re: Red dart?
I've just been looking at the old Dutch Morini Club archive, which the U.K. Morini Riders Club has acquired, and there is a photograph of a red DART 400 and a caption which says 'the red vesion is rather rare, but a genuine factory bike'. Here is the link... https://www.morini-riders-club.com/Nederl...

Re: Carb needle help
Hi Funsize. The Morini Riders Club Technical Guru, Paul Compton, did a YouTube video showing the re-assembly of VHB carb which is well worth watching. The needle doesn't get a mention until 20 minutes in and it doesn't show how to remove or move the needle. Still, it is quite simple once you have t...
