Re: New Strada owner - hello & a switchgear question
Wasn't aware of that phenomenon , but my bike has been hard to kick, and I noticed there's a fairly hefty dollop of grease in and around the contacts on the kill-switch on the bars, so will clean that off just in case it has been a factor. So...brief update on the problematic switch and suspect wiri...

Re: New Strada owner - hello & a switchgear question
Whereabouts are you? I bought a Camino switch for my Strada but managed to save the original switch. Hence, if you want it, you can have it. I'm in Northampton. Regards George Hey George - very decent of you. I'm in Ireland unfortunately, so it'd probably be not hugely more expensive for me to pick...

Re: New Strada owner - hello & a switchgear question
Is the Camino switch (barring the wiring) a straight drop in to the original switch mounting plates on the Morinis Steve ?

Re: New Strada owner - hello & a switchgear question
Aye Steve, now that I know far more about 5-6 pole ignition switches than I ever wanted to - I might even be tempted to forget about the parking light circuit and just fit a generic 4 pole Chinese or Japanese pattern one :) At this stage the originality's gone whichever way I go, so can start to pla...

Re: Welcome new forum members - introduce yourself
I meant to ask btw - are there any current members based in Ireland North or South ? I know there were a few very active posters and at least one fantastic looking 3 1/2 restoration undertaken by somebody from on here in days gone by, but wondered if there's any other Morini owners who might be loca...

Re: New Strada owner - hello & a switchgear question
Ah thanks John - appreciate that. Mine is a slightly different construction - but really useful info nonetheless. There's no wavy plate in mine, looks like the 'indexing' perhaps relies instead on ball bearings (or something else) being pressed in and out of the grooves in the metal casing of the sw...

Re: Anybody got a sidestand for a 3 1/2 ?
Thanks Jenny
I see they have the spring as well (albeit at a racy £17 plus VAT). Will have to give them a ring and see if it needs the original bolt - and whether they stock them too.

Anybody got a sidestand for a 3 1/2 ?
Putting my '78 model Strada back to good running/riding order. The side stand is missing, and having to find a flat piece of ground and then haul it up on the centre stand every time you want to park is starting to get a bit wearying. Would anybody have a side stand - ideally with the proper bolt /s...

Re: Welcome new forum members - introduce yourself
Thanks Steve and MM. Yes to answer your questions, there are some pretty decent roads around here for sure. I live about 2 miles from the Skerries road-race route, so some decent stretches close by, but like anywhere there's also a few really good roads slightly further afield that everybody knows b...

Re: New Strada owner - hello & a switchgear question
Thanks John - appreciated. I have one of those Mdina ignition barrels in my online shopping cart - but held off ordering in case the original switch proved to be ok. Would have been annoyed at myself if I laid out the money for one plus postage/ import charges to here, and then discovered the switch...

New Strada owner - hello & a switchgear question
Gentlemen / ladies hello. Just joined the forum / posted a little bit of an introduction over on the other sub-forum. Working through recommissioning a '78 model 3 1/2 strada currently. Took it for a short test run at the weekend, which went really well until all of the electrics disappeared. Worked...

Re: Welcome new forum members - introduce yourself
Hello gentlefolk / members of the Morini world. Just joined the club recently, and registered for the forum today. Long time rider, as far back as the halcyon days of my first (official/legalish) RD250 and suchlike. Also a long term admirer of the 3 1/2, although not a pup's chance of me ever having...
