I owned and liked both here they are but still own the Morini,
though I did twice the mileage on the SV in 3 years than I have
done on the Morrini in twenty.

Re: Is this normal behaviour?
Got mine about 15 years back did not know much about them but it was cheep and I could see
a profit, I still have the thing many others have come and gone but the Strada stays,
they are just a lovely thing to ride, and any way I am a sucker for V twins.

Re: MPG
Though it will pull from 30 mph and less than 2000 revs in top even on this run I did not let the revs drop that low, mostly 4 to 5000 rpm nothing worse for a engine than to be run at to low a rpm, If my bike as a fault it's the clutch sometimes slips a little between 5 and 6000 rpm around the max t...

Re: Oil loss
If the compression rings are worn but not the oil ring you can get blow by enough to
pressurise the crankcase and blow oil out of the breathers but not show any blue
smoke out of the exhaust.
Maybe a compression test?

MPG
Just put the Strada back on the road after a winter lay off, just pooddling about
up to 60 ish running round the lanes 109 mpg I know the clock is a little fast but
even so that's a good result, as good as a Honda 90 I had.

Re: Motobatt MBTX30U battery
I have a MB9U on my 1975 350 Strada and it was a tight fit think I had to take
the right side panel off and work it in from there but it's about 2 years back so not sure,
maybe the 500 is different.
LENGTH: 136MM, WIDTH: 76, HEIGHT: 133MM

Re: Vibrations!
Mine is smoother at that speed than 50 but it's not bad at any speed getting smoother at higher speeds.
The carb balance makes a big difference at lower speeds but could be worth a look also engine mount
bolts.

Re: Wiring
It's hard to read the diagram so check things out as you go we don't want to fry anything expensive
I will have another look at it in the next few days but let me know how you go on, mine is playing
up a bit so may have to fit a 6 pole to mine at some time.

Re: Wiring
What do you have on the end of the 6 pole switch numbered terminals or coloured wires
is the switch numbered 1 to 6 with 1 being at the 6 o'clock position then numbered clock wise?

Re: Wiring
The ignition is turned off by shorting the system so you should find a circuit when the ignition is turned off.
