The beast now as a MOT pass with flying colours, as a slight flat spot but it needs new fuel and a good run then if it's not sorted its self out I will have another play with the carbs.

the belt was showing signs of it's age so just as well it's been changed

I have the hand book for mine it says
ROSSO1 goes to transducer for cylinder 1
ROSSO goes to transducer for cylinder 2

I take it ROSSO1 means the red wire with the white band but have not checked.

You could try these people they know what they are about but I have only dealt with them re Suzuki and Yamaha
but it may be worth a ring.
